Providers of woman's car insurance are reminding drivers of an important safety message regarding motorcycles as bikers take to road with the onset of warmer spring weather.
AA Insurance services revealed recently that car insurance claims involving incidents with motorbikes is likely to rise by approximately 40 per cent according to previous years' figures.
The insurance branch of the motoring organisation warned car drivers that bikers taking to the road again after several months off their two wheeled vehicle may be out of practice and this could pose an extra risk of road traffic accidents, especially as drivers may have become unaccustomed to finding motorbikes out on local streets.
An AA spokesman said, "The skills of many motorcyclists need polishing too after a long lay-up, so it's important for both to be aware of the risks as the results can be tragic."
A spokesperson for CoverGirl said, "To avoid an accident and a costly claim on your woman's car insurance, drivers should remember to look carefully for motorbikes, particularly at junctions and in slow moving traffic. By stepping up your all-round observation skills you could avoid the tragedy of an incident with a biker."
