The lady who buys Nissan's latest creation is going to be glad that car insurance for women is so cheap.
At £36,250, the "Barbie Girl" Micra is the most expensive Nissan on sale in the UK at almost twice the cost of the standard model.
However, Nissan reckon it is worth every penny. The bright pink car, which is on sale at Chorley Nissan, is one of just 275 of a special production run and is the only one on sale in Britain.
The C+C (coupe and cabriolet) features a personalised number plate which is spelt, somewhat predictably, BAR81E. It is the plate, in fact, which pushes the price up so much as it has an estimated value of a shocking £21,500.
It isn't just a lucky Barbie fan who will celebrate when this exclusive Micra sells, either. The Nissan dealership has pledged £250 to the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity, which will also receive a donation from number plate site www.newreg.com if the special plate is sold with the car.
Peter Portlock, Chorley Nissan Group director, said: "We're absolutely certain there's a Barbie girl out there who'd love to get her hands on both the limited edition pink Micra and the 'BAR81E' numberplate - that really makes this a true one-of-a-kind car."
Lee-Anne Bass of ladies' motor insurance firm CoverGirl Car Insurance Services commented: "Wow, what a car - it is certainly an eye-catcher.
"The lady who buys it will probably still be able to get a reasonable deal on car insurance for women too, as personalised number plates don't usually put up motor insurance rates."
