Although ladies are usually pleased about their woman car insurance rate, they may not be so happy when it comes to using a seatbelt when pregnant. Many mums-to-be have complained about the comfort of normal three point seatbelts, as well as wondering about the level of safety afforded to their baby.
However, a company named BeSafe has come up with a product that is designed to help out pregnant women. The BeSafe Pregnant belt ensures the seatbelt runs under the lady's abdomen and over the hips, as opposed to a usual seat belt which will tend to go across the woman's bump.
Many expectant mums fear wearing a seatbelt at all because they believe it could harm their unborn baby when it pulls tight in the event of a crash. As a result, some ladies don't strap themselves in when they are travelling in the car.
The road safety group Think! has warned women against this habit, stating that wearing a seatbelt reduces the risk of injury to the baby by 70%.
The invent of the BeSafe Pregnant belt now allows even ladies who were cautious about using a normal seatbelt to buckle up and stay safe while in the car. If there is an accident, they will be better protected and the chances are that the most they will have to worry about is a rise in their woman's car insurance premium.
Lee-Anne Bass of CoverGirl Car Insurance Services, the experts in cheap motor insurance for ladies, commented: "As a mum-to-be myself, I think it sounds like a wonderful invention.
"I hope it will change the ways of women who have been driving around without a seatbelt at all."
