Young female drivers, well-known for their ability to get cheap motor insurance quotes, are at greater risk of dying as a car passenger than a driver. The "For My Girlfriend" campaign hopes to reduce the number of girls hurt and killed each year in this way.
The Sussex Safety Camera Partnership (SSCP) is just one organisation that is promoting the "For My Girlfriend" campaign.
The hard-hitting campaign targets young male drivers, reminding them of the serious consequences of having an accident with a passenger in the car. It also helps to raise women's awareness of the high number of other girls their own age who die each year in these circumstances.
The latest instalment of the campaign is a poster depicting a bloodied foot sticking out from underneath a wrecked car, entitled "Speed Dating."
Emma Rogers, communications manager for SSCP, commented: "The speed dating poster is one of the most graphic we have ever used, so we are really hoping it will have the desired effect and make young people think before they get behind the steering wheel."
Lee-Anne Bass of CoverGirl Car Insurance Services, the specialists in cheap ladies' LL30LL, said: "This sobering campaign is an excellent reminder to young men and women to be more careful on the roads and we hope lives are saved as a result."
