Car insurance for women that includes breakdown cover is fast becoming a driving necessity after recent research revealed how few motorists on UK roads would stop to help a stranded driver.
The Age Concern survey showed a mere one in twenty (5%) of motorists would definitely stop to help a driver in distress.
Results also exposed that just over 83% of over-55s were not helped at the scene of a breakdown, whereas 81% of the 18-24 year-olds received offers of help from members of the public.
The report reveals that over 50% of older drivers feel anxious after a breakdown, and only 3% would feel confident that a passer-by would stop to offer assistance.
Jeff Morris from Age Concern Insurance Services says, "Our research shows that you cannot rely on passing traffic to stop and help."
A CoverGirl spokesperson commented, "We can arrange breakdown cover with all our car insurance for women policies to offer complete peace of mind in the event of a motoring hitch. Relying on a stranger to help at the side of the road is not the best or safest option."
