Despite car insurance for women being so cheap some ladies still have some embarrassing driving stories to tell, which is exactly what the Metro newspaper has found.
Shocked by government statistics saying that male drivers account for 88% of all motoring offences, the Metro newspaper has published some of the embarrassing stories that female drivers had to tell.
One woman car insurance customer said: "Before I left on a long journey I looked to see if my car needed more oil. Ten minutes later I was driving at 50mph down the A40 when suddenly everything went black. For a split second I thought I'd gone blind, until I realised the bonnet had flown open. I must not have shut it properly when I'd checked the engine - I was lucky not to cause a serious crash."
Another lady said: "I was driving to my evening course at a local sixth form college when I somehow managed to mount a small roundabout in the college car park. I got a bit flustered when I realised that no matter how much I tried to go forwards or back, the wheels were completely stuck. In the end I phoned my brother who came round with his friends and physically lifted the car off - while a crowd of college kids gathered round to watch."
A spokeswoman for CoverGirl Car Insurance Services, the experts in car insurance for women, said: "Even though we women might have the one or two embarrassing stories to tell, statistics still show that we are the safest drivers."
