If you tried to make a claim for a smashed windscreen and said it was caused by a runaway horse trampling over you car, your car insurance for women provider might find the story a little hard to believe.
However, an Israeli driver will have to hope his insurer does believe him after a horse jumped onto the bonnet of his car and trampled over the roof and off the other side.
The incident happened on a road in Galilee and was captured on video by a tourist filming a group of horses galloping along a highway. The footage clearly shows the moment when the horse ploughed into the car, narrowly missing the driver. Thankfully there was no one in the passenger seat at the time.
The driver escaped with minor cuts and the horse suffered only light injuries according to Israeli media reports. The car however didn't fare quite so well. As well as the broken windscreen, the driver may also have to claim for repairs on the car's bodywork and paintwork which got severely scratched in the drama.
Thankfully the car had slowed to a minimum, lessening the damage to the horse, driver and the car. Claims to the driver's car insurance are therefore a lot less than they could have been had the car been travelling at higher speeds.
Next time you have to claim for a crack in your windscreen, be grateful you do not have to try and convince your car insurance for women company that it really was caused by a horse.
