Just as Big Brother starts advertising for its latest auditions, girls in the UK are being warned about the cost of fame, especially the effect it will have on their car insurance quotes.
A recent study by elephant.co.uk has found that celebrities such as Jade Goody are paying more for their female driver insurance because of their well-known status in the media.
For example, Jade Goody, who appeared on our television screens back in 2002 pays 22% more for her motor insurance than if she had never taken part in the reality TV show and continued to work as a dental nurse.
The online cheap car insurance provider also announced that the job title 'celebrity' will be added to its website so other people who acquire their fame through such shows as Big Brother and X Factor can take advantage of their motor insurance deals.
A spokesperson for CoverGirl Car Insurance Services said: "A lot of women throughout the country would love the idea of becoming a celebrity. We just hope that they earn enough money to pay for their car insurance quotes."
