Motorists in Devon and Cornwall have been putting their cheap car insurance at risk after police officers caught 425 people driving above the speed limit in just one month.
As part of a safe driving campaign in the Devon and Cornwall area, police have been cracking down on people who continue to ignore speeding restrictions.
In total, 425 drivers were clocked travelling above the speeding limit with an alarming 32 motorists caught travelling at more than 100mph.
A police spokesperson commented on the shocking findings and said: "It is clear from Operation Vortex that some motorists continue to adopt a complacent and even arrogant approach to road safety."
Speaking about the revelations, a spokeswoman from the experts in women's car insurance, CoverGirl Car Insurance Services, added: "Any motorist caught speeding could easily be putting their cheap car insurance at risk as well as, more importantly, the lives of other road users."
