Although the majority of ladies are very good at finding cheap car insurance policies, research from Norwich Union has shown that one in three aren't so good at reading them.
The home, life and motor insurance provider has revealed that 33% of consumers do not bother reading their insurance documents at all, and 40% are left wondering what their new policy actually covers them for.
A spokesperson for the cheap car insurance company helpfully commented: "Our research highlights a lack of understanding about insurance."
The research, which was released in the form of the Your Policy Report, also found that many people did not realise what standard motor insurance covered them for.
For example, a third were found to hold the mistaken belief that their car insurance company will pay out if their car is stolen when their keys were left in the ignition.
Others were unsure of simple tactics which could enable them to get a cheap car insurance quote, with one in ten saying that they did not realise that they might save money by adding another person as a named driver.
The Norwich Union spokesperson went on: "Customers who do not know what they are covered for could face disappointment when claiming if their expectations are not met - something which could be avoided if they understood what is in their policy before they need to claim.
"The insurance industry has a responsibility to be open and transparent about the workings of its policies, and we want to help cut through any confusion so people understand exact what they are - and are not - covered for.
"However, customers have an equal responsibility to read the information we send them. We really encourage them to ask questions of their insurer if they are unclear on anything."
