A recent survey has shown that female drivers not only receive cheap car insurance for women because they're excellent motorists, they also enjoy great deals because they never fail to buckle up.
The survey, which was carried out on lady car insurance customers in America by the National Highway Safety Administration (NTHSA), showed that compared to men, females were more likely to fasten their seatbelts
The study found that 85 per cent of women wore seatbelts behind the wheel in 2006 with just 78 per cent of men making sure that they were strapped in.
According to the study, back-seat passengers were also less likely to buckle up last year.
A spokesperson for the NHTSA commented on this finding, saying, "They may feel like they have the protection of the seat in front of them and that they are less at risk."
This responsible attitude to safety displayed by the ladies in this survey is perhaps part of the reason why cheap car insurance for women is so affordable.
With the legal requirement for seat belts coming into affect over 25 years ago, every motorist, both male and female, should ensure that their seatbelt is fastened.
