As if we needed any more confirmation that we're better drivers than men, a major car insurance firm has released a new report revealing that women get cheaper car insurance deals than men because of male drivers' "Stone Age" behaviour.
While women tend to claim for small knocks and scratches, men make claims for more expensive damage because they take more risks on the road and are more likely to speed.
According to the report, male drivers' aggressive behaviour is a remnant from Stone Age survival instincts when the caveman had to defend his territory from other males. Translated into the modern day, man's territory is his car and other road users are his competition which leads to his aggression and need to speed.
Research from safety organisation Brake suggests that men are three times as likely to speed on motorways and country roads and twice as likely to speed in a 30mph zone and four times as likely to be convicted of speeding offences. These are all factors that make their premiums so much more expensive than car insurance for women.
Despite their claims that they are better drivers, male drivers' Neanderthal-like behaviour behind the wheel is preventing them from getting the same cheap car insurance deals as women.
