General insurers offering cheap car insurance quotes
A study from MoneyExpert.com has revealed that general insurance companies may be better at offering ladies cheap car insurance deals than specialist female driver insurers.
Research by the online car insurance quote comparison site came out as showing that quotes from female motor insurance brands are more costly than mainstream insurers.
It compared cheap car insurance quotes for the female driver of a 2002 Citroen C5 and found that ladies' motor insurance firms averaged at £279, whilst general insurers' quotes averaged at £207 - a difference of £72.
A spokesperson for MoneyExpert.com said: "By going straight to these [women-only] providers female consumers are ruling out many of the biggest names in the insurance market and some of the best-value policies on offer."
However, he also recommended that ladies check policy details when considering which offers the best value.
