Cheap cover and guilty motorists
In the constant search for cheap car insurance, women hold the key to the price of their policy in the way they choose to drive.
Yet, media reports also continually reveal the apathy demonstrated toward driving regulations by some drivers, and their actions, more often than not, impact on honest motorists by indirectly increasing the cost of their car insurance premium.
A court heard recently how a 32-year-old Bridlington man was stopped by police having been spotted using his mobile phone at the wheel.
When checks were carried out it was discovered that the man was driving without valid car insurance and without an MoT certificate.
The driver failed to respond to notification of the hearing and was absent from court on the day the magistrates sat. The charges were all found to be proved.
Sentencing will take place on May 8th.
Providers of cheap car insurance for women and men alike constantly hope for stiff penalties for motorists who flout the law, in a bid to deter such negligent behaviour and ultimately reduce the cost of motor cover for the honest driver.
