An 80-year-old lady from Steyning, Sussex has proved that she is worthy of really cheap woman's car insurance rates.
Peggy Weeks has been driving for more than 50 years but still covers thousands of miles each year.
She said: "I drive out a lot as I go all over the place, not just Sussex but Hampshire and Kent and places giving lectures and things and I'd like to go on doing that for a little bit longer."
Despite believing she was still a safe driver, she decided to take an advanced driving test.
Peggy commented: "I thought it was about time I found one or two sloppy habits that may have turned up.
"Also, things have changed since I was first driving - the cars are different and parts of travelling have changed so I thought it was a good idea to get some things ironed out."
Peggy booked herself in for some driving sessions in the nearby town of Worthing with a professional driving instructor and, after six lessons, was told she was good enough to take the test.
She passed first time with flying colours and is now a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists.
She said: "It wasn't the test I was bothered about passing or failing - it was getting the necessary information to improve my driving.
"I'd encourage other people to do it, particularly older drivers. I hope people think, 'If she can do it, why can't I?'"
Lee-Anne Bass, of the woman's car insurance company CoverGirl Car Insurance Services, said: "I think it is fantastic that Peggy has passed her advanced driving test at 81 - she is a role model for all drivers out there.
"Hopefully her motor insurance firm will take her pass into account when they are calculating her next ladies' car insurance premium."
