Cheap women's car insurance has been highlighted by new research showing men act like cavemen behind the wheel leading to more expensive accident claims than the fairer sex.
Studies have found that as well as costlier motor cover claims, male drivers are more likely to break speed limits and are convicted of traffic offences more often.
As a result, premiums for men can be as much as £500 more than car insurance for women of the same age, vehicle and personal circumstances.
The research by swiftcover.com and Oxford academics highlights the fact that male motorists are statistically more likely to be dangerous and aggressive while driving - which the academics link to male Stone Age instincts when men would defend their territory.
A swiftcover spokesman said, "Driving aggressively means that you will always be out of pocket when it comes to your motoring expenses."
While no research is currently available on the affect of ladette culture on policy costs, it is likely most female drivers are likely to benefit from cheap womens car insurance for some time to come while men will have to continue footing the cost of higher premiums.
