Research by Citroen has revealed that more mums are playing I Spy and other classic games to entertain their children in the car.
In Citroen's study, I Spy came out as the most popular game to play in the car, with 63% of woman car insurance customers saying that they had recently played it with their children.
It was found that traditional games like I Spy were much more popular with parents and young children than some of the newer inventions like games consoles and DVD players, which scored more points with older kids.
Citroen also found that parents' number one solution to quiet down their kids on long journeys was providing food and drink, rather than reading a children's book or putting on a CD.
A child psychologist commented on Citroen's research, saying: "All parents know that the only way to make a long car journey tolerable is to keep the kids occupied.
"Spending some time playing traditional in-car games like I Spy, are still good ways of entertaining young children but technologically savvy older children expect their entertainment to be more sophisticated."
