A woman car insurance firm has urged customers searching for new car policies to be cautious about free offers promoted by insurers - by watching out for inevitable catches.
CoverGirl Car Insurance Services - which specialise in cheap car insurance - is concerned motorists may end up paying for free offers "one way or the other".
A CoverGirl spokeswoman said, "There's no such thing as a free lunch. Freebies offered by insurance companies may seem attractive, but we would recommend examining the entire policy package on offer."
CoverGirl's comments come after Tesco announced a new offer - a free pressure washer for cover-buyers who buy a policy this spring.
Anyone accepting the offer would own a tool that could be used to wash their cars.
Tesco say customers would enjoy cover that offers the option of a replacement car within three hours of a car accident and legal cover up to £50,000.
The spokeswoman for woman
car insurance firm, CoverGirl, said, "We could provide better cover
than this at a cheaper price - it would be worth giving us call before
accepting free offers."
