21-year-old loses cheap car insurance

An American lady has put paid to her chances of finding cheap car insurance once and for all.

The South Carolina woman, 21, had already attended court on several motoring charges and been convicted of driving without a license. However, when she turned up at the court the following week to pay a ticket, she landed up in jail.

Contrary to most female drivers who protect their cheap car insurance by staying within the law, what this particular lady did was attend court in a stolen car.

Unfortunately for her, the police had been tipped off and arrested her straight away, putting paid to her audacious plan.

A spokesperson for women's car insurance company CoverGirl Car Insurance Services commented: "Attending court in a stolen vehicle is certainly a daring move, and one which, rather predictably, did not turn out very well for this woman."
