Choosing the direct debit option could mean that ladies are paying more
than they have to for their woman
car insurance, according to an online
car insurance comparison site.
MoneyExpert.com, which provides information and advice on a range of financial
matters as well as comparing car
insurance quotes, is warning motorists that motor
insurance companies' insurance rates tend to be on the high side when
paying off a policy in monthly instalments.
This means that when a woman car insurance customer chooses to pay by direct debit instead of one lump sum, she could be effectively upping her motor insurance quote by as much as 22%.
Whilst a small number (1 in 12) of UK insurers do offer direct debit payment options without extra costs or interest, the vast majority make their customers pay through the nose for the luxury of spreading the cost of their motor insurance across the year.
MoneyExpert.com suggests that drivers explore the option of paying via credit card instead, making sure to take advantage of any introductory interest-free discounts on the market.
