UK cheap car insurance customers remain confused about drink driving limits and say that they would prefer a total ban to end the confusion.
A recent survey carried out by the online motor insurance provider Direct Line Car Insurance found that 40% of motorists surveyed were confused about drinking limits, with many wanting a complete ban to make the roads safer.
The shocking survey also revealed that one third of drivers didn't know how many units were in a pint of beer or how it would affect their blood levels and driving skills.
What many people fail to know is that one pint of cider, lager or beer is equal to two units and that the legal limit is 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
A spokesperson for Direct Line said: "Findings from our study make worrying reading. If an average-sized female motorist drinks two large glasses of wine during an evening out, then that is the equivalent of two-thirds of a bottle of a wine."
Anybody caught driving after having too much alcohol could easily risk a fine or even worse, they could lose their drivers licence and ultimately their cheap car insurance.
