Do you find yourself switching off while driving or getting to your destination without really remembering how you got there? A study has found that nearly half of people jeopardise their women's car insurance by 'switching off' while driving.
This auto pilot state of mind caused 59% of the 4000 individuals surveyed to forget sections of their journeys and 60% to drift off into 'their own worlds while driving'.
One of the biggest dangers on a long journey is drowsy driving where the motorist is more tired than they think and simply drift off. Driving while tired can be just as dangerous as drink driving as your perception becomes distorted and your reaction times slow. This leads to higher accident rates and consequently more claims being made on car insurance for women.
A Covergirl spokeswoman gave this advice, "If you have to drive a long distance, make sure you take regular breaks. If you are feeling sleepy, turn your radio up and wind your windows down for some fresh air."
If drivers crash due to their tiredness they are likely to find it hard to claim on their women's car insurance.
