Attacks could leave learners waiting for cheap car insurance
Female motorists are renowned for their safe driving skills and that's why they receive cheap car insurance. However, studies have shown that a large number of learner drivers are getting irate behind the wheel.
The Sun newspaper reported that a high percentage of learner drivers could face having to wait even longer before searching for motor insurance quotes because so many are attacking their instructors.
According to statistics, 348 examiners were assaulted by pupils in 2006, which is double the number of attacks that occurred in 1997.
One of the most serious cases included a learner driver who trapped their instructor in a vehicle and started a fire outside - they will most probably have to wait a long time before searching the internet for cheap car insurance quotes.
In total, there were 319 verbal attacks and 29 physical attacks last year; all of these incidents could easily cause many instructors to become cautious when taking out young drivers.
Because of the increasing violence, the Driving Standards Agency (http://www.dsa.gov.uk) is trialling CCTV cameras in some of the most high-risk test centres throughout the country and has even given some instructors panic buttons.
Despite such attacks, a large number of female drivers prove to be extremely good behind the wheel, which explains that why after passing their test, they'll receive even cheaper car insurance than boys.
