All those with ladies' car insurance love to brighten up their cars with hanging pendants in their windscreens but a recent clampdown by police could leave many unhappy.
Police in central Scotland are apparently coming down hard on motorists who have such items as fluffy dices or even air fresheners hanging at the front of the vehicles. Many drivers are concerned about the crackdown and are hoping that it will not affect their female driver insurance.
Inspector Graeme Allan said that motorists should have nothing that obstructs the area that's swept by the windscreen wipers.
He added: "If anything is in this area it will obscure the driver's vision and we will target anyone committing this offence."
A spokesperson for the Association of British Drivers commented: "I am frankly dismayed that any police force see 'dangling dollies' as a threat to road safety, let alone a serious issue that needs to be 'clamped down on'."
He added: "A far more positive contribution to road safety would be to significantly increase specialist traffic police patrols to tackle current levels of dangerous, drunk, unlicensed and uninsured driving - each a far greater threat to road safety than any dangling dolly."
It is not believed that any ladies' car insurance premiums will be affected by the crackdown.
