What's your excess, ladies - car insurance excess that is?
Jay Kay's insurance excess on his black Ferrari Enzo is £10,000, and after a nasty incident of vandalism, the Jamiroquai front man would have had to reach into his own pocket to settle the repair bill for the car which totalled £9,434.03; not forgetting the £370 to have the car towed away.
Ipswich Crown Court jailed the 21-year-old chef who caused the damage to the vehicle, in an alleged fit of jealousy, for 20 weeks after he pleaded guilty to criminal damage and two other separate offences.
Jay Kay's solicitor said that if the court ordered the 21-year-old to pay compensation the singer would give the full amount to charity.
A CoverGirl spokesperson commented, "Agreeing a high value excess on your ladies' car insurance is one way to keep the cost of your renewal premium down, but you must be prepared to pay for repair bills in the event of a claim."
