A man in the US who shot a speed camera with a rifle has proven exactly why car insurance for women is so much cheaper.
The 47-year-old man was caught by police after they heard the sounds of gunfire on their early morning patrol.
The officers said they searched the area and found the man driving a people carrier, acting very suspiciously. When they inspected his car they found a high-calibre hunting rifle.
Nearby, a red light camera had been hit with three shots. The man was charged with vandalism and reckless endangerment.
A spokesperson for the police said: "There's neighbourhoods all around that area. I guarantee you he wouldn't want someone shooting a high-powered rifle around his house."
A spokeswoman for the experts in cheap motor insurance, CoverGirl Car Insurance Services, added: "This story just goes to show why car insurance for women is so much cheaper than it is for men. Ladies are much less likely to exhibit this kind of risk-taking behaviour both on and off the roads."
