Tinted widows might look good but female drivers could find themselves having to pay a penalty for the stylish 'gansta' look.
Although women drivers may have saved on their latest motor insurance quote, they could find themselves out of pocket if their tinted windows don't comply with the law.
The law states that driver's should allow for at least 75 per cent of light to shine through their windscreens. Any driver, not just woman car insurance customers, could find themselves in the hands of the law if found driving with excessive tinting.
One owner of a tinted windows company based in Watford, said, "My main customer is a woman with a multi-passenger vehicle."
In a bid to tackle the problem, police in Manchester have been handing out £30 fines to drivers spotted with tinted windows. In the past eight months, a total of 2000 penalties have been given to law breaking motorists, with more than 500 orders made to keep overly-tinted vehicles off the road.
Gemma Turner, spokesperson for Covergirl Car Insurance Services, the women's car insurance provider, said, "Obviously we want lady drivers to keep hold of their motor insurance quote savings and so we urge them ensure that their tinted windows comply with regulations."
