More and more women are joining Nissan after a drive to attract more female managers in the Japanese company.
With a history of a very male-dominated workplace in Japan, things have been slow to change in the country. However, change is now certainly underway, with ladies currently making up 4% of management at Nissan compared to just 1% at Toyota and 0.4% at Honda.
Nissan is attracting female staff with benefits such as onsite day care for children, flexible hours and up to two years off for family leave.
A spokesperson for Nissan said: "Things are definitely changing. But what would be ideal is if we could stop talking about this topic of being a woman or a man altogether."
However, it seems that with all the talk of diversity in the workplace, it is unlikely that the issue of gender will be all but forgotten any time soon.
