One lady is going to have trouble finding cheap car insurance for women after she was convicted of a catalogue of motoring offences.
Amanda Black, from Ulster, got into trouble with the police after being spotted driving at 94mph in a 60mph area.
When the 18-year-old pulled over, police found that she hadn't even passed her driving test, although she did not have L-plates on the car. She then proceeded to give them her sister's name instead of her own, a fact which she later put down to having panicked.
She appeared at court charged with driving without motor insurance, driving on a provisional licence without supervision and driving without displaying L-plates.
After describing her actions as a "seriously anti-social act", Resident Magistrate John Meeham fined Ms Black £600 and banned her from driving for six months.
However, it doesn't look like Ms Black is even going to be searching for the cheapest car insurance for women any time soon, as it was revealed she had since sold her car.
