Ladies aged up to 70 will now be able to get a cheap car insurance deal through Norwich Union's Pay As You Drive scheme.
When the scheme was launched, it was open only to drivers aged 24 to 65, thereby excluding older women motorists.
However, Norwich Union has now announced that this age range will be extended up to 70, which is excellent news for ladies looking for cheaper motor insurance package.
Pay As You Drive insurance is likely to be a hit with older female drivers, as it is said to offer the best discounts for people who cover fewer than 8,000 miles per year. According to statistics, 65 to 70 year-olds drive an average of 7,000 miles in this time, putting them in line for potentially very cheap car insurance.
A spokesperson for Norwich Union's Pay As You Drive scheme said: "The original launch was hugely successful. 'Pay As You Drive' is an ever-evolving insurance policy, and this extension to age 70 reflects our continual attention to its ongoing development, as well as overwhelming consumer demand.
"We feel that by extending the age range to 70, we are offering these drivers the opportunity to save money on their insurance premiums with a policy that is likely to better suit their lifestyle."
