Vandals force young mum to claim on woman car insurance

A mum-of-two has had to turn to her woman car insurance provider after vandals threw paint stripper over her Vauxhall Corsa.

The 23-year-old, from Burgess Hill, West Sussex, has had to pay out £500 for her motor insurance excess after the incident which left the Corsa an unsightly, patchy light green.

She said: "I took out a loan to buy the car and now I have got to find £500 excess. Where am I going to find £500?"

Unfortunately, it is likely that there will be further financial implications of her insurance claim when it comes to renewing her woman car insurance cover.

A local councillor said: "This kind of horrendous behaviour towards a young woman cannot be tolerated."

This was echoed by police, who said that they were "energetically investigating" the incident.
