Car insurance quotes could come down in price
More and more people could be risking their future cheap car insurance quotes according to a study looking into dishonest drivers.
Recent statistics released by the Association of British Insurers found that a high number of vehicles are being seized and crushed because their owners have failed to insure them.
The impressive crackdown is due to new automatic plate recognition technology used by police up and down the UK. Since officers started using the device, 100,000 uninsured vehicles have been caught compared to the 78,000 discovered in 2006.
A spokesperson from the ABI commented on motorists who drive without cheap car insurance and said: "Uninsured drivers are a menace. They often drive unroadworthy vehicles, and the cost of compensating their victims adds an extra £30 a year to premiums paid by honest motorists."
Speaking on behalf of CoverGirl Car Insurance Services, the experts in woman motor insurance, a spokesperson added: "It shouldn't have to be difficult to find a cheap car insurance quote but the behaviour of some irresponsible motorists can adversely affect the cost for other road users."
