In the UK, ladies have been driving for a long time and cheap women's car insurance is taken for granted. However, this is not the case in some other countries.
Saudi women are banned from driving and a suggested review of the situation has prompted Interior Minister Prince Nayef bin Abdul Aziz to rule out any possible change in the law in the near future.
He said: "It is regrettable that this matter has become an issue, though it does not deserve to be. I am astonished why this issue has been discussed."
"I urge everyone to forget about it..Such an issue is decided in accordance with public interests and women's dignity," he finished.
Lee-Anne Bass, a spokesperson from women's car insurance company CoverGirl Car Insurance Services, said: "It is hard to imagine females being banned from driving in the UK as we are so accustomed to it.
"It's a shame Saudi women aren't allowed to drive because, as ladies' motor insurance rates prove, females actually make very good drivers."
