According to research into women's car insurance companies by comparison site Moneyexpert.com, Sheila's Wheels claims that they offer "bonzer car insurance deals", could be a bit wide of the mark.
The comparison website's researchers sought policy quotes for a 35-year-old female living near Glasgow driving a Citroen C5. The Sheila's Wheels quote was £213 - £26 more expensive than general insurer Liverpool Victoria, but £94 cheaper than Diva Car, another car insurance company specialising in female driver insurance.
Once again, car insurance experts advise female drivers to shop around to make sure the policy is exactly what they want and covers the things that they need, all at the right price.
A CoverGirl car insurance spokesperson said, "Whilst we recognise that women are statistically safer drivers than men, and so offer them cheap women's car insurance policies, we always advise our customers to make sure the policy we are selling them has everything they need, such as legal expenses insurance and breakdown cover which can be arranged as driving add-ons."
