Snakes cause reckless driving charge
Getting the cheapest woman's car insurance is made more difficult if you have received a charge for reckless or dangerous driving and a young man in the US is likely to find the cost of his car cover rising significantly as a result of a recent car accident.
The 20-year-old male driver was reportedly transporting two baby pet snakes in his pocket trousers when he lost control of his SUV (sports utility vehicle), swerved into parked cars and then overturned in the vehicle.
The driver, from Hartford Connecticut, told traffic police that he and his passenger were trying to catch the snakes after they had escaped from his pockets and slithered down into the footwell, near the brake and accelerator pedals.
At least three other vehicles were involved in the car accident and the driver was taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries. He was later charged with reckless driving, failure to drive in the proper lane, driving while distracted and driving without a licence.
A spokesperson from CoverGirl, specialist providers of woman's car insurance, commented, "We've heard many stories relating to car accidents, but this one really takes the hiss!"
