Female drivers are more likely to forget to turn on their headlights and worry about other road users flashing their headlights, according to a recent survey by UK car insurance provider esure.
Recent research commissioned by the motor insurance provider found that a large number of motorists are unsure about what the Highway Code guidelines are for headlights, resulting in many female divers risking their cheap motor insurance.
According to the findings, not only do 54% of motorists admit failing to turn on their headlights, a shocking 59% of ladies feel stressed and panicked when somebody else flashes them to remind them.
An industry leading expert, Professor Steve Stradling, said: "Misuse of headlights at this time of year can be particularly dangerous for motorists, especially on badly lit roads. In particular, drivers should try to use dipped headlights and not full beam unless absolutely necessary and always remember to leave adequate space between their vehicle and the car in front, so as not to dazzle other motorists."
Driving without headlights in the winter months can be seriously damaging. In the event of a road accident, you may even have to forfeit your cheap UK car insurance.
