A lady caught driving without car insurance for women says she regrets taking her husband's car to make a journey to the shops.
The 43-year-old from Blackburn thought that she had picked up all the skills needed for driving by watching her husband drive the family Audi A4.
However, when she decided to take the car to the shops she crashed into a parked car causing the two occupants of that vehicle to sustain serious whiplash injuries.
Following the accident she said: "I regret what I did, and I certainly won't be doing it again, I've learned my lesson."
The woman pleaded guilty to taking the car without authorisation, without car insurance for women and without a licence. She will have to pay a £120 fine and £60 costs.
As her husband's vehicle only sustained a crack registration plate, it is not believed that he will be making a claim on his motor insurance for serious damage.
