Sheilas' Wheels has revealed the huge numbers of ladies in the UK who want to be famous, just as it starts its new marketing campaign.
The woman car insurance company carried out a "First Steps to Stardom" study, in which ladies were asked about their attitudes to becoming famous.
The results of the research showed that 40% of British ladies - which equates to almost 10 million - want to be famous, at least for a while.
Almost half of those who did want to be famous felt that appearing in a TV advert would be a direct route to fame, whilst 20% said they would try out for programmes like the X factor in order to achieve celebrity status.
6% of the ladies who took part in the woman car insurance firm's interviews admitted that they would even sleep with someone famous to achieve their dreams of stardom.
These findings come in the run up to the 'Make me a Sheila Star' campaign that is being run by Sheilas' Wheels.
The campaign will give five women the chance to appear in an advert for ladies' motor insurance company, which will be run late in 2007.
One of the previous stars in the adverts for cheap car insurance for women commented: "I've really enjoyed the attention I've had since becoming a 'Sheila'. Guest starring on the Sheilas' Wheels ads is definitely a great place to start if you want to get on TV or are just a die hard Sheilas' fan who wants to join in the fun."
A spokesperson for Sheilas' Wheels commented: "Since day one we knew that Sheilas' Wheels would never be just another car insurer.
"The brand has reached out to women of all ages and we have been inundated with requests for all things Sheila - including signed photos of the girls, the song lyrics, and DVDs of the ads.
"We launched a fan site to help meet demand but wanted to go one step further by getting real Sheilas' Wheels fans glammed up and on the big screen."
