An American lady is going to struggle to find cheap motor insurance quotes from now on thanks to her energetic puppy.
The 44-year-old driver, Mona Lisa Seeling, was driving along a highway in Prineville when her young puppy suddenly jumped into her lap.
She lost control of the Subaru station wagon, which flipped and landed upside down on the road. Although medical assistance was sent to the site of the accident, nobody (including the puppy) was found to be injured in the crash.
However, Ms Seeling was breath tested by police, who found her to be over the limit. She was arrested and taken to the nearest police station, although she could not be detained as the jail was full.
Lee-Anne Bass, of woman car insurance company CoverGirl Car Insurance Services, said: "Whilst this lady will probably be looking at increased motor insurance quotes for quite some time, at least nobody was hurt in the accident.
"This case is an excellent example of why it is so important to restrain pets in the car. Always remember to keep your pets harnessed or in an appropriate cage while driving, even for short distances."
