A church-going Romanian woman put her cheap car insurance rates on the line after she stole a car without even realising it.
The lady, from the town of Miercurea Ciuc, borrowed her friend's Dacia (a Romanian car brand) so that she could go to a church service.
She completed the journey there quite happily, attended the evening service and then drove back without a problem - as far as she knew.
It was not until morning that her mistake came to light. Her friend walked into her garage to find that the car parked there was not her Dacia, but another similarly coloured model from the same manufacturer.
She immediately telephoned police to report the accidental theft and they were able to reunite the two Dacias with their respective owners.
It emerged that the two cars had identical locks which meant that the lady could use her key to open the car's door and start the ignition without even realising that she was in the wrong vehicle.
The car's owner accepted that the theft had been carried out unintentionally and decided not to press any charges.
A spokesperson for the cheap car insurance experts at CoverGirl Car Insurance Services said: "It is a rare thing for someone to steal a vehicle without realising it and, I imagine, even rarer that the thief should ring the police to admit it.
"However, it sounds like everything turned out okay in the end - both Dacia owners got their cars back and the lady who made the mistake didn't have her motor insurance marred with any driving convictions."
