Woman's car insurance buyers are being urged to practice vigilance by Surrey police after a spate of thefts from cars has caused concern and forced claims to be made for damage to cars.
Mole Valley police officers reported two cars were broken into recently while parked at Headley Common near Epsom and warned drivers who have parked up to visit beauty spots around the country to be on their guard.
A rucksack was taken from the boot of a BMW and loose change was stolen from a Daihatsu on the particular Saturday in March.
PC Mike Bessent said, "Even simple measures such as removing valuable items and taking the boot cover off to show the vehicle is empty really can make a difference."
If you have to make a claim on your woman's car insurance you may lose your no-claims bonus and this would mean your renewal premium is likely to increase.
