A Dundee woman may have no choice but to claim on her woman's car insurance after a deep pothole on the city's streets caused over £1,000 worth of damage to her vehicle.
The 24-year-old told the Dundee Evening Telegraph, "It was dark and my boyfriend went through this pothole.
"There was a massive bang.
"When we checked the car, we saw the front alloy was scraped and two of the tyres were ripped.
"The garage said we had to take the car off the road because the tyres could burst and the suspension might have been affected.
"And he said he had two cars in because of the same pothole."
When the young female
driver contacted Dundee City Council about the damage to her Vauxhaull
Vectra she was told there had been 25 other complaints about the road
hazard.
She was told to contact Bear Scotland Ltd, the contractors responsible for maintaining the city's road network, but has been trying, without success, for over three weeks.
Speaking to the newspaper she said she was reluctant to claim on her
woman's
car insurance because she would lose her no-claims bonus and have
to pay the excess.
