As a woman, car insurance quotes are usually a pleasant experience due to the low cost rates. However, apparently not all aspects of driving are quite so satisfying for ladies.
Extensive research by JD Power has shown that ladies are, on average, less satisfied with the car they own than their male counterparts.
15,000 motorists completed a 7-page survey about their experience of buying and owning a car, covering aspects such as running costs, visiting the dealership and problems encountered.
Female drivers were found to be less satisfied in every area surveyed. For example, ladies were revealed to have more problems with the car they bought, reporting 212 issues for every 100 vehicles compared to men who noted 191.
According to gender psychologist Professor Lorraine Sherr, the reason for this difference is deeply embedded in the female psyche.
She explained: "Women are more discerning buyers than men, who tend to be easily pleased. As women become more assertive and career-oriented, they are less prepared to be pushed around."
Lee-Anne Bass of the woman's car insurance company CoverGirl Car Insurance Services said: "Well, we certainly don't see many complaints about the ladies' motor insurance quotes we give - perhaps these findings don't apply to every aspect of women's shopping."
