Women insurance buyers from Slough beware, as the Berkshire town has been named the place in Britain that you are most likely to be involved in a car accident, according to insurance firm Endsleigh.
According to car claim data, Slough boasts the highest frequency of car insurance claims in the country – 49% above the national average, while Belfast would appear to be the safest place to drive with 44% below the national average claim rate.
Behind Slough came Ilford and Birmingham with claims 44% and 33% above the national average respectively. And proving safer than most towns Swansea and Aberdeen showed 27% and almost 23% below the national average for car accident insurance claims.
Rhiannon Harris, spokeswoman for Endsleigh, said, "Drivers need to be even more vigilant leading up to Christmas when there are usually a greater number of vehicles on the roads and when weather conditions can be extremely hazardous.
"Our report highlights that some towns and cities represent a greater risk for motorists than others. However, it is important that motorists throughout the country are extra vigilant at this time of year."
A CoverGirl spokesperson commented, "Women insurance buyers hold the key to their own car accident prevention by remaining focused on road awareness at all times wherever they may be driving."
