The battle to halt the tide of dangerous drivers goes on with a message to all women; insurance is a must, as is a driving licence.
A Bradford woman has appeared in court, to be sentenced, after being found guilty of driving without due care and attention on March 11th 2008.
The 27-year-old, who did not appear in court to face the charges in October, was also found guilty at the time of driving without car insurance and not in accordance with a licence.
She had been spotted by police patrol officers travelling at speeds of 60 to 70 mph, and overtaking recklessly by crossing a double white line in the centre of the road.
At sentencing the woman told the bench, "I took a risk to get to work on time. I messed up. I was racing. I have no excuse."
The woman was fined a total of £170 and ordered to pay £40 court costs and £15 victim surcharge by magistrates.
A spokesperson for CoverGirl said, "We constantly stress to women, insurance is not optional. If you do not have adequate motor cover you are breaking the law and risk prosecution."
