New statistics from the Department of Transport (DfT) have proven what we all already suspected - that ladies are better drivers and thoroughly deserve cheap car insurance rates.
The statistics are taken from recorded road accidents that took place in 2005 and show that less than a third of car crashes involved women drivers. More specifically, out of 281,810 accidents, just 93,448 had a female behind the wheel.
For many years, we ladies have qualified for cheap car insurance rates because insurers see us as having a low risk of making a costly claim on our motor insurance policy. However, this has always been treated with a degree of disbelief by many men who are convinced that females aren't very good drivers.
Now women can use these recent DfT statistics to assure men that ladies really do make better motorists than male drivers.
The statistics also showed the relationship between age and a woman's likelihood of having a car accident. Those most likely to have a crash were aged between 40 and 49, whilst those least likely were aged over 70.
