A female motorist has been given the opportunity to show off the excellent driving skills that have rewarded her with cheap car insurance as she takes part in the now famous Formula Woman assessment.
The 23-year-old student from Dorking, Surrey, was chosen out of 1,300 hopefuls to compete for a place in the championships, which will see 16 female drivers compete against each other.
She heard about the national event, which is aimed at attracting woman car insurance customers and thought that she would try her luck at applying.
She said, "I am just interested in driving and I thought it would be good to give it a go. I am quite excited, and not nervous. I do not know what we are doing yet and what they are going to assess us on so we cannot really prepare."
The winner will be able to prove just why it is that women deserve to have cheap car insurance and following the assessment will be given a seat in a season of touring cars.
Gemma Turner, spokeswoman for GoverGirl Car Insurance Services, the motor insurance experts, said, "Women make excellent drivers which is why we're able to offer them such affordable motor insurance quotes. Formula Woman is a fantastic opportunity for woman racers to show what they're really made of."
