Two women were held at knifepoint recently after a hooded man threatened the pair with a 10-inch knife as he tried to steal off with their cars at a petrol station forecourt. Bravely, both women refused to let him take their cars, preventing them from having to claim on their women's car insurance.
The attempted robbery happened at the Esso petrol station in Wigan Road, Deane on Thursday 28th May at 9am. The hooded thug first jumped into the car of one lady while she was in the driver's seat and demanded she hand over the keys.
After she refused, the robber moved onto the next woman's car where the same happened resulting in the robber fleeing from the scene.
Police confirmed they were investigating the attack and released a description of the man. He was white, in his 20s, wearing a baseball cap with a grey and red chequered scarf, black jeans and a black hooded top.
Thankfully, neither of the women were hurt and neither had to claim on their women's car insurance.
