It's a sad fact, but many men still believe female drivers, those who might buy women's car insurance for instance, are not very capable when it comes to navigation.
However, it appears that when it comes to using the technological map reading marvel that is Sat Nav, men are a little more gullible when following instructions.
According to motoring website motoring.co.uk 30 per cent of men have ended up in a random and strange destination compared with 20 per cent of women.
And, interestingly, most Sat Nav users prefer a woman's voice to navigate them, with 56 per cent choosing a female option for spoken directions.
The strangest complaint regarding Sat Nav directions cited by survey respondents was from one intrepid driver who completely foxed their GPS.
"Sat Nav continually told me I was driving on water, felt like Jesus and got very confused," they said.
A spokesperson for CoverGirl the specialist provider of women's car insurance, commented, "We would always recommend carrying an up to date road atlas in your car and if you feel unsure of your whereabouts, you should stop and consult the map."
