Hamster crash
Richard Hammond has crashed again, but - don't worry, all you womens car insurance buyers out there with a soft spot for the ‘hamster' – it was only a shunt incident involving a small number of cars that were obviously travelling too close together, and when one had to brake sharply, the rest concertinaed into each other like something out of the Keystone Cops.
Luckily, the Top Gear presenter was at the back of the line and the rear of his £110,000 Morgan AeroMax supercar emerged unscathed. However, the front end was reportedly not so lucky.
The police arrived to direct the traffic that had built up on the A40 at Over, just outside Gloucester, and, according to a witness, the drivers involved exchanged car insurance details and some good-humoured banter once they realised the celebrity was involved.
A spokesperson for CoverGirl, specialist providers of womens car insurance, commented, "We can't believe it – a man involved in a rear-end shunt incident, surely that's not possible. Perhaps the diminutive presenter was busy fluffing his hair!"
